Hello Everyone! I am writing this opinion piece for one reason, to show why I believe Team Captain America is the choice everyone should make for the upcoming film Captain America: Civil War. I am an extremely avid fan of comic books, and I have read Marvel's Civil War and know the story line that the movie is basing itself off of. Heads UP before you read though, I would like to say that I am a huge fan of Iron Man and I am not writing this to demean his character in any way. I am writing this piece because I believe the underlying themes of Captain America's cause a vastly superior to Iron Man's. I hope y'all enjoy the piece!
5. Captain America is Easily the Better Leader
Number five is just out right obvious. Captain America is clearly more qualified in the leadership department than Tony Stark. Cap has the experience, the know how, and the will to lead. Tony has never proved himself to even work that well with others much less lead. Captain America is the closest human example to the word leadership, and is the clear winner against that rich stuck up Tony Stark.
4. Captain America is A Much Better Role Model
Let me ask you a question. Would you want your children looking up to, a greedy and rude playboy? Or rather a man who exemplifies courage and also smashed Hitler in the mouth? The answer is pretty clear to me. Cap is the perfect role model for children because he's everything they should strive to be. Courageous, kind, strong, and not afraid to speak his mind. Captain America, to me, is only rivaled by Superman as the greatest superhero role model for kids. Tony Stark on the other hand is a playboy who didn't have to work hard for his money(His father gave him a whole lot more than a small million dollar loan) and is consistently rude and obnoxious to everyone he meets. Is this the kind of man you want your children to look up to?
3. Tony Stark Uses his Noteriety as Iron MAn for Personal Gain
Tony Stark is only worried about one thing, Tony Stark. This is shown throughout his career as Iron Man. He consistently uses his fame as Iron Man for personal gain whether it's through an increase in his wealth or becoming more powerful. While Tony Stark does mean well, and he generally wants to help the world as Iron Man, he looks at it all wrong. Instead of viewing the deeds he does as charity for the world he views them as a stepping stone to bigger and better things. This point leads me to my number two reason.
2. Stark and his Team Fight for Tyranny, Restrictions, and Government Control
The basis of this Civil War for people who don't know is boiled down to whats called The Superhero Registration Act. This Act which is enforced by the U.S government calls for all Superheros to become federal agents and relinquish their rights to protect citizens with their own free will. This Act is supported by Iron Man and his team because Stark believes that all super humans must be in "check". When it comes down to it the, Superhero Registration Act is a attack on the basic human rights that are granted to ALL citizens in the United States Constitution. The government should never be able to tell someone what they can and can't do with their abilities. Taking away human rights is the first step to tyranny, and Tony Stark is at the forefront of this movement.
1. Captain America and his Team Fight For Liberty, Justice, and Freedom
This reason alone should be why everyone is Team Captain America. There is no truer fight than the fight for liberty, and this is exactly what Cap and his team are fighting for in Civil War. The Superhero Registration Act basically strips down everything Cap stands for and intrudes on the basic rights of these super humans. America as a nation was built on the idea that freedom is above all else and speaking ones mind should not be punishing. Captain America fights for what are founding fathers fought for when they opposed Britain in the 1770's. The principle of freedom and liberty is not one that can be tossed around in the dirt, as it the founding principle of this great nation. Everyone who is thankful for their freedom and liberty should not even consider joining Team Iron Man. Everyone who enjoys freedom and liberty must rise up and not be afraid to say "I'm Team Captain America"
Thanks to everyone for reading this piece, and I hope I was to persuade at least one of you to embrace Team Captain America and join the fight for freedom and liberty. Captain America is symbol to everyone, and I love to help spread this message. Thank you all.
