Well 2014 has come to a close, and what a year for movies. Heres my picks for the top films of 2014. P.S I haven't seen all the films that have come out this year, so give a guy a break, ya know? Without further a do here my Top Ten Films of 2014.
Number 10.
The Lego Movie
Everything is awesome in this extremely fun and well made animation based on the building blocks of the same name. No other movie this year had me gut wrench laughing like this one. "Mom, where are my Legos?!?"

Number 9
Edge of Tomorrow
Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt shine as action stars in the incredibly fun science fiction thrill ride. Having thinking this would just be another crap shoot like Oblivion, I couldn't be more happy to say that Edge of Tomorrow is one of the best films of 2014.

Number 8
X-Men Days of Future Past
The X-Men films return to form with the best on yet in Days of Future Past. Combining old and new never looked so damn good. Jennifer Lawrence shines as Mystique, James McAvoy and Micheal Fassbender return as young Charles Xavier and Magneto respectfully and the two greatest british actors of all time in my opinion return to their starring roles in Patrick Stewart and Ian Mckellan.

Number 7
Interstellar
Does it have Plot Holes? Yes. Does it not make sense at times? Of course. Is it Nolan's best? No. Is it still one of the best movies of 2014? Absolutely. Christopher Nolan's space epic is filled with such love and ambition that you cant help but admire it. Plus it has Matthew Mcconaughey, and that guy can do no wrong now it seems.

Number 6
Guardians of the Galaxy
Sometimes at the movies, you just gotta have fun. And no movie this year embodies fun more that of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. This movie right here proves that Marvel studios can do no wrong, and have a damn good time doing it.

Number 5
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
America prevailed this year with Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In my opinion this is Marvel studios best movie to date, and it shows as this has action, class, dark themes, and great acting. If Captain America wasn't your favorite Avenger before, he will be after this.

Number 4
The Babadook
Essie Davis shines as the best performance by an actress this year in this Australian horror movie. The Babadook is a horror movie unlike any I have seen in recent memory and it is definitely one for the ages. Being someone who never gets scared, I can assure that this movie will creep you out to no end. But what makes this movie stand out from other horror movies this year is its bold themes and it's extremely intense look on depression. It'll creep you out to where you don't want to watch it, but its just so damn good that you can't stop.

Number 3
Snowpiercer
Hey again Chris Evans! I'll tell you what this guy is an unstoppable force. He can act, and he can do it damn well. Snowpiercer is a Korean film that absolutely blew my mind. This is not a film for everyone by any means, and it can be extremely gruesome and tough to watch. But for this viewer, I couldn't keep my eyes off it. Bravo.

Number 2
Birdman
I love Micheal Keaton. Always have always will. He's Batman for crying out loud. How can you not love him. Believe me guy when I say with complete zero bias that Micheal Keaton, this silly actor from the 80's, gives one of the best performances of all time in this movie. It's bold, it's fresh, it's exciting, it's Birdman. Go see it.

Number 1
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
No movie this year, gripped me as hard and never let go as Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. This movie is spectacular in every way possible and is a testament to science fiction movies. Andy Serkis once again proves that motion capture is an art form that the Academy should recognize, as he gives one of the best performances ever as Caesar, the leader of the apes. This movie was a movie that had me keep going back to the theater to watch it, and that is saying something. Its fun and exhilarating. It was the best movie of the summer, and of course the best movie of the year.
Well that's my list! Let me know what you guys thought! Tell me your top ten! Here is a final toast to the grand year of cinema that was bestowed to us in 2014.
